Why a Desktop for a Fixed Desk — and Why Renting Beats Buying

Not every workstation needs to travel. A reception counter, a cashier, an exam-lab seat, a back-office admin desk — these are fixed places where the computer stays put all day. For those, a desktop is the right tool: a larger screen for hours of work, a full keyboard, more stable performance per rupiah, and no risk of the unit walking out the door. A laptop is for staff who move; a PC or All-in-One is for the desk that does not.

Arental treats the work around the box as the actual service. First, delivery and setup: our crew places the unit, connects it to wired LAN or Wi-Fi, joins it to your domain, installs your standard apps, and configures multi-monitor — for a Mini-1L we VESA-mount it behind the monitor so the desk stays tidy. Second, the right form factor for the place: a single-cable AIO for a clean reception desk, a 1-liter mini PC for a high-volume lab, an expandable Tower/SFF for a back office, an iMac for a creative desk. Third, fleet capability: we prepare dozens to hundreds of uniform units with identical setup for a CBT lab or an operations room, installed en masse on site. Fourth, a standby technician: remote troubleshooting first, an on-site visit, and unit replacement within 1-3 working days.

The fleet behind that is 12 manufacturer built-up families across HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, and ASUS — never assembled PCs — covering everything from a Rp 300rb essential desktop to a Rp 1.5jt high-performance workstation. For a desktop you need for months rather than years, a monthly rental is usually far cheaper than the total cost of buying, running, and eventually disposing of one yourself. For mobile staff, see our office laptop rental instead.

What Is Included

4 Real Capabilities Around Every Desktop

PC & AIO rental at Arental is the service around the box, not just the unit: delivery + setup, the right form factor, fleet capability, and a standby technician.

Delivery + Setup + Network

We deliver, place, and set up the unit on the desk: power, wired LAN (RJ-45) or Wi-Fi, domain/workgroup join, standard-app install, multi-monitor configuration, and a power-on test. Mini-1L units are VESA-mounted behind the monitor for a tidy desk. After the contract, we collect and pack it.

The Right Form Factor

A single-cable AIO for a clean reception desk, a 1-liter mini PC for a high-volume lab, an expandable Tower/SFF for a back office, and an iMac for a creative desk. Built-up only — HP, Dell, Lenovo, Apple, ASUS — never assembled PCs, so the fleet is consistent and serviceable.

Fleet Capability (Uniform Units)

We prepare dozens to hundreds of uniform units with identical setup for a CBT exam lab, a training room, an operations room, or a new branch — installed en masse on site so the room is ready to operate, no rigid minimum unit count.

Standby Technician + Replacement

Remote troubleshooting first (most software/driver issues resolve in minutes), an on-site visit for hands-on problems, and unit replacement within 1-3 working days where a unit cannot be fixed on the spot — often same/next-day in Jakarta proper. For critical PCs we arrange standby backup units.

Use Case 1 · Front-Office & Reception

Single-Cable AIO for a Clean Reception Desk

A reception desk is the first thing a visitor sees, and a tower under it with a tangle of data cables undoes the impression instantly. This is exactly where an All-in-One earns its place: the computer is tucked behind the screen, so the desk needs only one power cable — no tower, no trailing cables in view. The unit stays put, which is the point of a front desk, and it is ready to use the moment it is plugged in, webcam and microphone built in for guest photo verification or a quick video call.

For a standard front desk, the HP ProOne 400/440 G9 AIO (23.8" Full HD, pop-up webcam, integrated speakers) keeps the counter tidy and tamper-resistant. For an operations-heavy desk that runs all-day shifts, the Dell OptiPlex AIO 7410/5410 adds a sturdy stand and an RJ-45 port for stable wired LAN. The Lenovo ThinkCentre AIO Neo 30a flexes from 21.5" to 27" with a physical privacy shutter, useful in open areas. And for an executive guest desk or a lobby, the HP EliteOne 24"/27" with a 5MP AI auto-frame camera and Bang & Olufsen audio gives a premium feel. Every AIO rental includes a keyboard and mouse.

HP ProOne AIO 23.8"

A 23.8" Full HD AIO with a pop-up webcam and integrated speakers — the one-cable front-office staple for receptionists, registration counters, and branch desks that must stay clear of a tower.

Dell OptiPlex AIO 23.8"

A sturdy-stand 23.8" AIO with a wired RJ-45 port for stable LAN — built for all-day operations desks and call centers that cannot drop their connection mid-shift.

Lenovo ThinkCentre AIO 21.5"-27"

The flex-size AIO across 21.5", 23.8", and 27" with a physical privacy shutter — for an office that mixes narrow admin desks, video-call stations, and wide dashboard displays.

HP EliteOne 24"/27" (Executive)

A premium AIO with a 5MP AI auto-frame camera and Bang & Olufsen audio — an executive-class guest desk or lobby unit, also strong for an analyst desk with up to 32GB DDR5 and a 27" QHD screen.

Use Case 2 · CBT Exam & Training Lab

Mini-1L Volume for Exam Labs & Training Rooms

A computer-based testing (CBT) lab or a training room has a distinctive shape of demand: many identical seats, needed for a season or a project, that must all boot the same, connect the same, and behave the same on test day. Buying dozens of PCs for a per-season exam is a capex that sits idle the rest of the year; renting matches the unit count to the calendar. The most efficient answer is a 1-liter mini PC: small enough to VESA-mount behind each monitor, which clears the desk for candidates and cuts the cable clutter that turns a lab into a troubleshooting nightmare.

For high-volume uniform fleets, the Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny M70q/M80q/M90q is the go-to — MIL-STD-810H tested for durability, with i3/i5/i7 tiers (value to performance) and competitive per-unit pricing at scale. The HP EliteDesk 800 Mini adds DDR5 and enterprise management for a heavier exam application, and the Dell OptiPlex Micro is the essential, budget option for light-to-medium testing. Where a one-unit-per-desk layout is preferred, uniform business AIOs (Dell OptiPlex AIO, HP ProOne) are also tidy. We prepare the whole fleet with an identical image and wired LAN so the invigilator simply powers them on — and a standby technician keeps the room running through test day.

Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny (MIL-STD)

A 1-liter mini PC tested to MIL-STD-810H, with i3/i5/i7 tiers (M70q to M90q) — the go-to for dozens to hundreds of uniform exam-lab and office units at competitive per-unit pricing.

HP EliteDesk 800 Mini (DDR5)

A 1-liter mini PC on 12th/13th-gen Core with DDR5 up to 32GB and enterprise management — for a heavier exam/training application or a desk-saving office, VESA-mounted behind the monitor.

Dell OptiPlex Micro (Essential)

An essential 1-liter Micro PC on 13th-gen Core with an optional Dell monitor stand that hides the CPU behind the screen — the budget pick for light-to-medium labs and reception desks.

Identical Image + Test-Day Standby

We prepare the whole fleet with an identical configuration and wired LAN so the invigilator just powers them on, and a standby technician keeps the room running through exam day.

Use Case 3 · Back-Office, Admin & Cashier

Expandable Tower & SFF for the Back-Office Row

The back office runs the business: accounting, ERP, data entry, operations, and the cashier line — all at fixed desks, all day, often across two or three monitors. These desks reward a Tower or SFF desktop, where a laptop would be cramped and slower per rupiah. A Tower adds PCIe expansion and extra drive bays for an add-in network, capture, or storage card, while an SFF saves space; both carry plenty of ports and drive multiple monitors from DisplayPort and HDMI.

The reliable, easy-to-service workhorse is the Dell OptiPlex 7010/7020 (Core i5/i7 13th/14th-gen, DDR5, PCIe slots) — a favorite for large uniform fleets. For SMB offices and tenders that specify the Lenovo brand on a tight budget, the Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo 50/M70t Tower & SFF brings ThinkCentre reliability at an essential price. The ASUS ExpertCenter D700 Mini Tower & SFF adds TPM 2.0 security for offices wanting vendor variety, and the HP ProDesk 400/600 (SFF & Mini) is the most economical entry point for high-volume data entry and administration. Pick a Core i5 with 16GB for standard accounting and operations, or step up to a Core i7 with more RAM for heavier ERP and multitasking.

Dell OptiPlex 7010/7020 Tower/SFF

The expandable workhorse on 13th/14th-gen Core with DDR5, PCIe slots, and extra drive bays — for administration, accounting, and operations desks that need add-in cards or two-to-three monitors.

Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo 50/M70t

An essential-class Tower & SFF that brings ThinkCentre reliability to a budget price on 12th/13th-gen Core — the pick for SMB offices and institutional tenders that specify the Lenovo brand.

ASUS ExpertCenter D700 (TPM 2.0)

A Mini Tower & SFF business desktop on 13th-gen Core with TPM 2.0 and ASUS Business security — a strong non-big-three alternative for offices diversifying vendors or handling sensitive data.

HP ProDesk 400/600 (Essential)

The most economical entry point — an essential SFF & Mini desktop on 10th/11th-gen Core with an SSD — to fill many data-entry, administration, and everyday-Office desks without inflating the budget.

Use Case 4 · Creative & Workstation Desk

iMac & Performance Desktops for Creative Desks

A creative or workstation desk is the one place where the display and the machine are the work, not just the tools — color has to be accurate, the screen large, and performance steady through long sessions of editing, design, or analysis. This is a fixed desk by nature, which is why an All-in-One or a performance desktop fits it better than a laptop: a bigger, color-true screen and more sustained power per rupiah, with no thermal throttling or cramped panel to fight.

For creative studios, agencies, and showcase spaces, the Apple iMac 24" (M1/M3/M4 chips, 4.5K Retina P3 wide-color display) is the most premium AIO in the fleet — accurate color for photo editing, graphic design, client presentations, and light video editing, with the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse included. For a Windows creative desk or an analyst who needs a big screen and high-quality hybrid meetings, the HP EliteOne 840/870 G9 AIO (24"/27" Full HD/QHD, 5MP AI camera, Bang & Olufsen audio, up to 32GB DDR5) is the executive-class pick. And for a high-performance workstation desk that needs raw compute — heavy rendering or CAD — we configure a top performance Tower with a Core i7 and maximum RAM. Tell us the creative apps and the ecosystem (macOS or Windows) and we match the unit, color, and configuration.

Apple iMac 24" (4.5K Retina)

The only Apple Silicon AIO in the fleet (M1/M3/M4), with a 24" 4.5K Retina P3 wide-color display — for creative studios, agencies, and client showcases where color accuracy matters most. Magic Keyboard and Mouse included.

HP EliteOne 840/870 (Windows)

An executive-class Windows AIO with a 5MP AI auto-frame camera, Bang & Olufsen audio, up to 32GB DDR5, and a 24"/27" Full HD/QHD panel — for a Windows creative desk or an analyst on wide spreadsheets.

Performance Tower (Core i7)

For raw compute on a fixed desk — heavy rendering, CAD, or data work — we configure a top performance Tower (Dell OptiPlex / ASUS ExpertCenter) with a Core i7 and maximum RAM, with PCIe expansion.

Multi-Monitor for Analysts

DisplayPort + HDMI drive two or three monitors from a single desktop, so an analyst or designer works across a wide canvas — configured and tested by us at setup.

PC & AIO Rental FAQ

Common Questions About Renting a PC or AIO in Jakarta

Pricing, PC-vs-laptop, reception AIO, CBT labs, Tower/SFF, MOQ & duration, built-up vs assembled, security, and rent-vs-buy — what clients ask us most.

Arental PC & AIO rental starts at IDR 300k/month for an essential Tower/SFF/Mini desktop (HP ProDesk, Dell OptiPlex Micro, Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo 50/M70t) for data entry and administration, IDR 550k/month for a performance-class PC (HP EliteDesk Mini-1L, Dell OptiPlex 7010/7020 Tower/SFF, ASUS ExpertCenter with Core i5/i7 and DDR5), IDR 650k/month for a 23.8" business All-in-One (HP ProOne, Dell OptiPlex AIO, Lenovo ThinkCentre AIO), and IDR 1 million/month for a premium AIO (Apple iMac 24" 4.5K Retina, HP EliteOne 24"/27" with a 5MP camera). High-performance workstation-desk configurations are available from IDR 1.5 million/month. How to choose: for a reception/front-office desk pick a single-cable AIO (tidy, no tower); for a CBT exam lab or high-volume training pick a Mini-1L (compact, easy to mount behind a monitor); for a back-office/admin that needs expansion pick a Tower/SFF (PCIe slots, plenty of ports); for a creative desk pick an iMac. Rates already include delivery and setup across Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) — send your job type and unit count to WhatsApp and our sales team will recommend the most cost-effective unit.
The difference is mobility. A PC and an All-in-One are stationary devices built for one fixed desk: a reception counter, an exam-lab row, an admin/back-office line, a cashier desk, or a workstation desk. A laptop is a mobile device for staff who move around, work in the field, or carry it into meetings. Choose a desktop when the unit never needs to travel: a larger screen for all-day work, a comfortable full keyboard, more stable performance per rupiah, and no risk of it being lost or taken home. For a fixed desk, an AIO or a Mini-1L saves space and cabling, while a Tower/SFF adds expansion. For staff who need to move, a laptop is the better fit — see our Office Laptop Rental page. Many offices rent both: desktops for reception, the cashier, and the lab; laptops for sales and management.
It is an excellent fit — this is the main strength of an All-in-One. On an AIO the computer is tucked behind the screen, so a reception or front desk needs only one power cable, with no large tower and no trailing data cables in view of visitors. We provide the HP ProOne 400/440 G9 AIO 23.8" (pop-up webcam, integrated speakers, ready to use the moment it is plugged in), the Dell OptiPlex AIO 7410/5410 (a sturdy stand and an RJ-45 port for stable wired LAN), and the flexible Lenovo ThinkCentre AIO Neo 30a in 21.5"-27" with a privacy shutter. For an executive guest desk or a lobby, the HP EliteOne 24"/27" with a 5MP AI auto-frame camera and Bang & Olufsen audio gives a premium feel. The integrated webcam and microphone on every AIO make it ready for guest photo verification or video calls with no extra accessories. The standard AIO rental includes a keyboard and mouse.
Yes — exam labs (CBT/computer-based testing/assessment) and training rooms are one of our main use cases, and there is no rigid minimum unit count. For high volume, the most efficient choice is a 1-liter mini PC: the Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny M70q/M80q/M90q (MIL-STD-810H tested, competitive rental pricing at high volume), the HP EliteDesk 800 Mini (DDR5, enterprise management), or the Dell OptiPlex Micro (essential, budget). A 1-liter unit mounts easily on the back of a lab monitor via VESA, saving space and cutting cable clutter — far faster to deploy than a separate tower plus monitor. Alternatively, uniform business All-in-Ones (Dell OptiPlex AIO, HP ProOne) are also tidy for a lab since each desk needs only one unit. We regularly prepare uniform PC fleets of dozens to hundreds of units, configured to the exam application workload. Send your desk count, duration, and the application in use so we can prepare the right configuration.
For back-office, accounting, and operations that need expansion, our pick is a Tower & SFF desktop. The Dell OptiPlex 7010/7020 (Core i5/i7 13th/14th-gen, DDR5, PCIe slots + extra drive bays) is a reliable, easy-to-service workhorse and a favorite for large uniform fleets. The Lenovo ThinkCentre Neo 50/M70t (essential-class Tower & SFF) suits SMB offices and tenders that require the Lenovo brand on an efficient budget. The ASUS ExpertCenter D700 (Mini Tower & SFF, TPM 2.0) is a strong security-focused alternative for offices wanting vendor variety. The HP ProDesk 400/600 (SFF & Mini) is the most economical entry point for high-volume data entry. The Tower variant gives PCIe slots for add-in network/capture/storage cards, while the SFF is more compact. All support multi-monitor (DisplayPort + HDMI) for accounting/operations staff working two or three screens. Send your application workload (ERP, accounting, etc.) so we can match the right unit.
Delivery and setup is our core service — the Arental crew delivers, places the unit, and sets it up until it is ready to use. Setup covers: physical placement on the desk (reception, lab, admin row), power and network connection (wired LAN via RJ-45 or Wi-Fi), domain/workgroup join on request, installing the standard applications you specify, multi-monitor configuration, and a power-on test of each unit. For a Mini-1L we VESA-mount it behind the monitor so the lab/office desk stays tidy; for an AIO it is a single power cable. For a fleet deployment (a CBT lab, an operations room, a new branch), our crew prepares uniform units and installs them en masse on site so the room is ready to operate immediately. When the contract ends, we collect and pack it — you never touch the technical side at all. A complete package (monitor, keyboard, mouse) can be included for CPU-only units such as mini PCs and Tower/SFF.
There is no rigid minimum unit count — we serve a 1-PC rental for a SOHO/small office up to hundreds of units for an exam lab, an operations room, or a new branch office. On duration: monthly rental is the most common and most cost-effective scheme for office desktops (a 1-month practical minimum), while for events, short training, or exams we offer daily/weekly rental. The longer the term and the more units, the better the per-unit rate — there is a tiered discount for multi-unit and long contracts. For a 3-12 month project (a project office, an MNC under renovation, a new branch, a seasonal ramp-up), monthly rental makes far more sense than buying units that later sit idle when the project ends. Send your unit count + duration + type (AIO/Mini-1L/Tower-SFF) to WhatsApp and our sales team will work out the most economical scheme for your case.
Yes — for creative studios, agencies, and showcase spaces we provide the Apple iMac 24" powered by M-series chips (M1/M3/M4) with a sharp, color-accurate 4.5K Retina P3 wide-color display. It is the most premium AIO in our fleet, ideal for photo editing, graphic design, client presentations, and light video editing with consistent color — the rental includes the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse. For a Windows creative desk or an analyst who needs a big screen and high-quality hybrid meetings, the HP EliteOne 840/870 G9 AIO (24"/27" Full HD/QHD, 5MP AI auto-frame camera, Bang & Olufsen audio, up to 32GB DDR5) is the executive-class pick. Both are stationary and suit a fixed design desk. For a high-performance workstation desk (heavy rendering/CAD) in Tower form, we point you to a top performance configuration — tell us the creative applications in use so we can match the unit, color, and ecosystem (macOS or Windows).
Every PC and AIO we rent is a manufacturer built-up unit — HP (ProOne, EliteOne, EliteDesk, ProDesk), Dell (OptiPlex AIO, OptiPlex Tower/SFF, OptiPlex Micro), Lenovo (ThinkCentre AIO, Tiny, Neo 50/M70t), Apple (iMac), and ASUS (ExpertCenter). We do not rent assembled PCs; branded built-up units are more consistent, easier to service, and more reliable for a long-term office fleet. The specification can be customized: choose the processor (Core i3/i5/i7 or an Apple M1/M3/M4 chip), RAM (8GB to 32GB), and SSD (256GB to 1TB) to match the application workload. For Office, email, and internal web apps, a Core i5 with 16GB and an SSD is plenty; for accounting/ERP or heavy multitasking we recommend a Core i7 with more RAM. Some AIOs also come in touchscreen variants and screen sizes (21.5"/23.8"/27") you can choose. Tell us the applications in use so we can prepare the right configuration.
On a monthly contract we commit to fast support: remote troubleshooting first via phone/WhatsApp (many software/driver issues are resolved in minutes), an on-site technician visit for hands-on problems, and unit replacement within 1-3 working days where a unit cannot be fixed on the spot — in Jakarta proper it is often same-day or next-day. This replacement support is part of the rental service, not an extra charge. This is the rent-vs-buy difference: when a PC you bought breaks, you queue at the service center, pay for parts, and absorb the downtime; when a rented PC breaks, that is our problem and your operations keep running on an equivalent replacement unit. For companies with a large fleet or critical PCs (an exam lab on test day, an operations room, a cashier), we can arrange a replacement SLA and standby backup units to suit your operational needs.
It depends on duration, unit count, and the kind of need. Renting makes more sense when: (1) the need is temporary/seasonal — a project office, an MNC under renovation, a new branch, a per-season exam lab, a recruitment ramp-up; (2) you need many uniform units quickly without a large upfront capex — dozens of lab or operations-room PCs; (3) you do not want the hassle of maintenance, warranty, depreciation, and disposing of old units — renting moves all of that to us, including replacement on failure. Buying makes more sense only if usage is permanent for years, the need is stable, and there is an internal IT team to handle maintenance and refresh. The rough math: for a uniform desktop fleet, monthly rental with service covered is often cheaper than the total cost of ownership (unit price + maintenance + downtime + depreciation) per year, especially when the need is not permanent. Send your unit count + duration + type and our sales team will help work out which is cheaper — we will not push you to rent if buying clearly makes more sense.
Yes. Most of our desktops and AIOs have an RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet port for a stable wired LAN connection — important for a CBT exam lab, an operations room, and a call center that cannot drop signal mid-session. Our crew sets up the network connection, joins the unit to your office domain/workgroup on request, installs the standard applications you specify, and configures multi-monitor for desks that need two or three screens. AIOs and desktops also support Wi-Fi for locations without cabling. For an exam lab that needs a uniform image/configuration across all units, we prepare a fleet with identical setup so the invigilator simply powers them on. Tell us your network needs (wired LAN/Wi-Fi, domain, applications) on request so we set it up to match your office or exam-room infrastructure.
