Manufacturing Laptop Rental — Plant Uptime for Cikarang/Karawang
Manufacturing laptop rental from Arental (PT Amanah Sewa Nanjaya, NIB 0220106601498, KBLI 77394, since 2021) is a tier 1-3 plant service with a replacement SLA under 60 minutes across Cikarang/Karawang, a 5-10% hot-spare buffer, and 24/7 dispatch for 99.7% uptime. On the floor, a single QC laptop that freezes at 02:14 during shift 3 can stall an entire line. The cost of downtime per hour for a tier-1 manufacturing line in Cikarang/Karawang is usually Rp 12-50 million, depending on the product. This page sets out how Arental keeps your manufacturing IT fleet at 99.7% uptime: a permanent hot-spare buffer, 24/7 tier-1 dispatch, and a replacement workflow we have already run at tier-1 automotive and tier-2 FMCG plants. Everything is governed by a written SLA with a per-plant IT Asset Management dashboard and asset tags that are BMN-compatible. Read our guides to IT asset management for company laptops and how to calculate company-laptop TCO for the finance justification. Manufacturing projects run 12-24 months — see our annual-contract options or the Device-as-a-Service (DaaS) model, which is often more efficient for large fleets.

Summary
Arental (PT Amanah Sewa Nanjaya) rents laptops to tier-1/2/3 factories and manufacturers across Cikarang, Karawang, and Tangerang. The replacement SLA is under 60 minutes via 24/7 tier-1 dispatch, with a 5-10% hot-spare buffer per client and custom imaging for MES/ERP (SAP, ABB, Siemens, Rockwell) so the replacement unit is accepted by the client's server straight away. Contracts run 18-36 months with a hardware-refresh clause at month 18. A fit for QC lines, production planning, supply-chain admin, and the warehouses of 24-hour multi-shift plants. For EPC construction projects with per-milestone handovers or hospital facilities with EMR-ready compliance, we offer dedicated vertical packages.

Why manufacturing needs a dedicated laptop-rental model
A plant runs 24 hours across three shifts with near-zero tolerance for downtime. When a QC unit freezes at 02:14 on the third shift, a regular rental vendor that closes at 17:00 offers no solution. One hour of downtime on a tier-1 manufacturing line in Cikarang runs Rp 12-50 million — far more than a full month's rental for the entire IT fleet. That is why a plant needs a vendor with 24/7 dispatch, a pre-imaged hot-spare buffer, and a written SLA with a penalty clause.
Arental's rental model is designed around the operational reality of a plant. A permanent hot-spare buffer (5-10% of each client's active fleet) is held at the Kebon Jeruk warehouse, always ready to ship. Every spare unit is already imaged with the client's MES/ERP software, tagged to the plant's internal asset format, and has a MAC address already whitelisted on the server — not just a physical swap, but a unit that is productive immediately, with no reconfiguration.
A concrete example: a tier-1 automotive-component plant in Cikarang with 150 units got a replacement SLA under 55 minutes on all 4 replacement events through the year — zero production downtime caused by IT. For an FMCG plant in Karawang, a 24-month contract with a burst-add clause for the Ramadan peak allowed an extra 15-20 units for 8 weeks with no return penalty after the peak.
The rental model is not optimal when a plant has an internal IT workshop able to image and dispatch its own units in under 30 minutes, or when the unit volume is very small (under 10 units), making an outright-purchase CAPEX cheaper than Arental's minimum contract cost. At 20 units and above with multi-shift use, rental almost always wins on TCO — including the end-of-life disposal cost.
Plant Operating Schedule vs Vendor Dispatch Window
Most laptop-rental vendors in Jakarta run an office-hours operating window (08:00-17:00). The table below shows why that is not enough for manufacturing — and how we stretch dispatch to 24/7.
| Plant Shift | Hours | Regular Vendor | Arental |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shift 1 (Morning) | 06:00 – 14:00 | ✓ Operating | ✓ Operating |
| Shift 2 (Afternoon) | 14:00 – 22:00 | ✗ Closed after 17:00 | ✓ Tier-1 dispatch on standby |
| Shift 3 (Night) | 22:00 – 06:00 | ✗ Closed | ✓ Tier-1 dispatch on standby |
| Weekends & Public Holidays | 24 hours | ✗ Closed | ✓ On-call (tier-1 SLA) |
| Peak Season / Audit / Go-Live | On-demand | ✗ Not flexible | ✓ On-site engineer standby available |
Replacement Workflow When a Unit Goes Down — 5 Steps, <60 Minutes
To make the under-60-minute SLA real (not a brochure number), this workflow is designed with zero handoff lag. The plant IT PIC never has to email the vendor or wait for a reply — everything runs through a single emergency WhatsApp channel allocated per tier-1 manufacturing client.
Ticket arrives via the WA emergency channel
The client's IT PIC sends a photo of the error plus the unit serial number to a dedicated WhatsApp channel (not the regular sales WhatsApp). The tier-1 dispatch team auto-acknowledges within 60 seconds. No forms, no email, no ticket number — directness wins.
Fast triage: software vs hardware
An engineer calls the client back within 3 minutes. For software, driver, or network issues we resolve via a remote session (TeamViewer / AnyDesk pre-installed) — usually done in 8-15 minutes with no physical replacement needed.
Decision: replacement or remote fix
If it is hardware (dead touchpad, flickering screen, broken keyboard, swollen battery), it enters the replacement flow. The hot-spare unit at the Kebon Jeruk warehouse is already imaged to the client's master image (MES client, ERP terminal, VPN profile, asset tag) — no setup from scratch.
Dispatch to the plant
A tier-1 courier on a fast motorbike for sub-2kg single units, or a van for multi-unit / peripheral loads. Jakarta proper: 25-35 minutes. Cikarang/Karawang: 55-90 minutes (toll-dependent). Tangerang: 35-60 minutes. Live tracking can be shared with the client's IT PIC over WhatsApp.
On-site swap + instant handover record
The Arental engineer swaps the unit on-site, verifies the MES login, ERP terminal, and VPN. The old unit is taken back for tier-2 diagnosis. The replacement handover record (BAST) is signed on-site (mobile e-sign) or over WhatsApp with photos of the unit condition and serial number — whichever fits the plant SOP best.
Realistic Scenarios at Tier-1 Plants in Indonesia

Tier-1 automotive-component plant · Cikarang
A 150-unit fleet across the QC line, the production planning room, supply-chain admin, and the warehouse. Workload mix: an MES client (Power BI dashboards for OEE tracking), an SAP ERP terminal, and heavy Excel for supplier scheduling. A 30-month contract with a hardware refresh at month 18. Ops track record: 4 replacement events across the contract, all resolved in under 55 minutes. Zero production-line downtime caused by an IT unit being down.
FMCG plant · Karawang Industrial Estate
An 80-unit fleet for the field sales team (mobile), the planning office, and the QC lab. Spec mix: a ThinkPad T14 for planning (16GB), a MacBook Air M3 for field sales (lightweight, long battery life), and a rugged-class Dell Latitude for the QC lab (exposure to dust from product finishing). A 24-month contract. Custom integration: MDM (Mobile Device Management) via Intune configured before delivery — the field sales team was productive from day one.
Textile plant · Tangerang
A 60-unit fleet for production admin, export-import, and plant finance. Environmental challenge: high humidity (a tropical climate plus steam dyeing) that shortens mechanical-keyboard life. The solution: a ThinkPad E-series spec with a spill-resistant keyboard, plus climate-controlled storage for the hot-spare buffer at the Kebon Jeruk warehouse. The replacement rate runs slightly above average (preventive), but with zero unplanned downtime.
Food & beverage plant · East Bekasi
A 45-unit fleet for planning, QC, and production engineering. Operational character: the Ramadan-Eid and year-end peak seasons need an extra 15-20 units for seasonal teams. The solution: a 24-month base contract with a burst-add clause for 2 peak periods per year. During a peak, the extra units are delivered 7 days before go-time at the same price as the base units. After the peak, the units are returned with no penalty.
