Why a Projector Vendor That Mounts & Focuses, Not Just Drops Off a Box

A projector fails a room quietly: an image so dim against the daylight that the slides are unreadable, a keystone left crooked so the deck looks like a parallelogram, a lamp that dies during the keynote, a MacBook that will not connect because nobody brought the right adapter. None of those are about the projector being bad — they are setup and brightness failures. That is why renting from a vendor that only drops off a box is a risk the organizer absorbs alone, with no second take on the day.

Arental treats the things around the box as the actual service. First, delivery and mounting: our crew brings and sets the right rig — a table mount, a tripod stand, or a ceiling mount — connects the source, and adjusts keystone/lens-shift and focus so the image is square and sharp. Second, the right brightness for the room: we size the lumens to the audience and the light, so the picture reads instead of washing out. Third, the screen and the cables: a tripod, motorized, or large frame screen plus long HDMI and the USB-C/Mini DisplayPort adapters modern laptops need. Fourth, a standby technician: focus, source switching, lamp/unit swaps in minutes — and for critical events a backup unit on-site.

The fleet behind that is ~27 projector families across Epson, BenQ, Optoma, Panasonic, Sony, NEC, ViewSonic, LG, and ASUS — from a Rp 300k standard meeting-room unit to a Rp 1.5jt 8,000-10,000-lumen large-venue laser — enough range to put an ultra-short-throw in a tiny classroom, a bright laser in a daylit training room, and a high-bright installation unit in a ballroom. For a projector you need for months rather than a single day, a monthly rental is usually far cheaper than the total cost of buying and running one yourself.

What Is Included

4 Real Capabilities Around Every Projector

Projector rental at Arental is the service around the box, not just the unit: delivery + mounting, the right brightness, the screen + cables, and a standby technician.

Delivery + Mounting + Focus

We deliver and set the rig that fits the room: a table mount, a tripod stand, or a ceiling mount for permanent use. The crew connects the source, adjusts keystone/lens-shift, and focuses so the image is square and sharp before the room fills. After the event, we dismantle and collect it.

The Right Brightness (Lumens)

We size lumens to the audience and the room light: 2,500-3,500 for a dimmable meeting room, 4,000-5,000 for a bright/windowed room, 5,000-7,000 for a 100-300 seminar, 7,000-10,000+ for a ballroom or hall. The picture reads instead of washing out.

Screen, Cables & Adapters

A complete package on request: a tripod, motorized, or large frame screen sized to the room, plus long HDMI cables, USB-C/Mini DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapters for MacBooks and modern laptops, and a presenter remote/clicker. Have your own screen? We can bring just the unit.

Standby Technician + Replacement SLA

Remote troubleshooting first (most issues are source/cable/setting), an on-site technician for hands-on problems, and unit replacement within 1-3 working days — often same/next-day in Jakarta proper. For critical events, a backup unit on-site for a minutes-long swap. Many units are laser/LED (no lamp replacement).

Use Case 1 · Meeting Rooms, Boardrooms & Small Rooms

Meeting-Room & Boardroom Projection, Plus UST for Tiny Rooms

A meeting-room projector has one job: put a readable image on the wall the moment the meeting starts, every time. Buying one means a capex line, a mount install, lamp replacements, and an asset that depreciates — a poor trade for a room you only need through a renovation, a project office, or a temporary expansion. Renting turns it into a clean monthly cost with the mount and the service folded in: we deliver and install the unit (a tidy ceiling mount where allowed, a table or tripod where not), focus it, and connect it to the room, and a failed unit is replaced within 1-3 working days.

Match the unit to the room. For a standard meeting room a 3,000-4,000 lumen 3LCD/DLP (Epson EB-Series, BenQ, NEC, Optoma, ViewSonic) reads clearly with the lights on; for a bright or windowed room, step up to a 4,000-5,000 lumen laser. For a very small room — or an interactive setup where the presenter stands at the screen — an ultra-short-throw (Epson EB-810E/815E) throws a 100"+ image from centimeters away with no shadow and no glare. For a boardroom that wants the cleanest, lowest- maintenance setup, an LED conference unit (BenQ LH730) runs near-maintenance-free, and a compact laser (Panasonic PT-VMZ) keeps a permanent ceiling rig bright for years without a lamp change.

Standard 3LCD/DLP Meeting Unit

3,000-4,000 lumens (Epson EB-Series, BenQ, NEC, Optoma, ViewSonic Mainstream) — reads clearly with the lights on, the safe default for a standard meeting or training room.

Ultra-Short-Throw for Tiny Rooms

Epson EB-810E/815E UST throws a 100"+ image from centimeters in front of the wall — no presenter shadow, no glare. Ideal for a very small room or an interactive classroom.

LED Conference, Near-Zero Upkeep

BenQ LH730 LED conference (4,000 lumens) and compact lasers (Panasonic PT-VMZ) have a long-life LED/laser light source — no lamp replacement, ideal for a permanent ceiling rig.

Monthly Rate + Ceiling Mount

A dedicated monthly rate for a project office, an MNC under renovation, or a temporary room — a tidy permanent ceiling mount with hidden cabling where allowed, with a replacement SLA within 1-3 working days.

Use Case 2 · Events, Seminars & MICE

Seminar, Conference & MICE Projection With a Technician On Standby

The hardest moments at an event are the ones nobody rehearsed: the keynote image that drops when the presenter switches laptops, the side screen left out of focus, the projector that cannot keep up with the room light during a daytime seminar. On event day there is no second take. Arental runs event projection as a service — delivered and rigged before the rehearsal, connected the way the AV team works (laptop, switcher, or media player), focused and brightness-matched to the venue, and backed by a technician on standby from rehearsal to the final session to handle HDMI handshakes, source switches, refocus, and unit swaps in minutes.

Scale to the audience. For a 100-300 person seminar a 5,000-7,000 lumen laser carries a main screen against moderate ambient light. For a larger plenary we plan one bright main-screen unit plus distributed side screens so the back of the room reads the slides as clearly as the front. For a wide stage we can stack or edge-blend units for an ultra-wide image or a simple stage map, and rig on the venue truss in coordination with the EO. Event rental is per-day or per-event (not just monthly), and for a multi-day exhibition the technician visits daily or stays fully on standby. Send the venue, audience size, and number of screens for a lumens, lens, and crew plan.

Bright Laser for Seminars

A 5,000-7,000 lumen laser (Panasonic PT-VMZ, Epson EB Laser) carries a main screen against moderate ambient light for a 100-300 person seminar or conference.

Main + Side Screens, Stacking/Blending

A bright main-screen unit plus distributed side screens for large rooms, or stacked/edge-blended units for an ultra-wide image and simple stage mapping — one source split across screens.

Any Source: Laptop / Switcher / Media Player

Standard HDMI (plus legacy VGA where supported) accepts a presenter laptop, a video switcher/mixer (multi-presenter), or a media player — plus the adapters MacBooks and modern laptops need.

Per-Event + Multi-Day Standby

Per-day/per-event rates with a technician on standby from rehearsal to close. For a multi-day exhibition, daily visits or full standby, plus a backup unit on-site for critical sessions.

Use Case 3 · Large Venue, Ballroom & Church

High-Bright Large-Venue Projection for Halls, Ballrooms & Churches

A big hall punishes an under-spec projector: a 4,000-lumen unit that looked fine in a meeting room is a faint grey smear on a ballroom screen, and a washed-out or dead image mid-service is a failure everyone in the room sees at once. Large-venue projection is its own discipline — it is about brightness, the right lens, and a reliable light source, and buying a unit for an event a few times a year is a tens-of- millions capex that sits idle the rest of the time. Renting puts the right high-bright machine in the venue for exactly the dates you need it.

For ballrooms, plenary conferences, churches, and big halls we provide 8,000-10,000-lumen large-venue lasers (BenQ LU9750/LU9800, Optoma ZU720T/ZU920T) plus installation lasers (Epson EB-PU, Sony VPL, Panasonic PT) for high-bright needs. These support interchangeable lenses for different throw ratios, lens-shift for placement flexibility, and stacking/blending for super-large or redundant projection. A laser light source means thousands of hours with no lamp change — the reliability a long service or a multi-day conference needs. Our crew delivers, rigs/mounts on the venue rigging or truss where needed, calibrates to the large screen and the light, and a technician stays on standby — with a backup unit on-site for a service or gala where stopping is not an option. Large-venue rental starts at IDR 1.5 million/month, with per-event rates for one-off dates.

8,000-10,000-Lumen Large-Venue Laser

BenQ LU9750/LU9800 and Optoma ZU720T/ZU920T stay bright against the ambient light of a ballroom, hall, or church with hundreds in the audience and a large screen.

Interchangeable Lens + Lens-Shift

Installation lasers (Epson EB-PU, Sony VPL, Panasonic PT) support interchangeable lenses for different throw ratios and lens-shift for placement flexibility in an awkward venue.

Stacking, Blending & Rigging

Stack units for brightness/redundancy or edge-blend for a super-wide image, rigged on the venue truss in coordination with the venue/EO — calibrated to the large screen.

Standby + On-Site Backup Unit

A laser light source (thousands of hours, no lamp change) plus a technician on standby and a backup unit on-site, so a service, plenary, or gala that cannot stop never goes dark.

Use Case 4 · Education, Classroom & Training

Classroom, Training-Room & Campus Projection Without the Capex

Education demand is seasonal and project-shaped in a way that buying serves badly. A school or campus needs extra units for exams, practical tests, an annual event, or a graduation — then they sit in a store room. A training provider moves between client sites and venues. An institution needs reliable projection without a purchase capex on the books. Renting matches the unit to the term: we deliver, mount, and focus the projector to the classroom or hall, monthly for a semester or daily for a school event, with a replacement SLA if anything fails mid-term.

For classrooms and training rooms a standard 3,000-4,000 lumen unit (Epson EB-Series, NEC, BenQ, ViewSonic, Optoma Mainstream) reads clearly in a windowed room, and an ultra-short-throw (Epson EB-810E/815E) makes an interactive classroom work without the shadow and glare of a teacher standing at the screen. An LED conference unit (BenQ LH730) is attractive for a lab or a heavily-used classroom because it is near-maintenance-free — no lamp changes through a busy term. For a school hall, a campus auditorium, or a graduation, a large-venue laser reaches a big audience. Send the number of rooms, the classroom/hall size, and the duration and our sales team matches the unit and the scheme.

Standard Classroom Unit

3,000-4,000 lumen 3LCD/DLP (Epson EB-Series, NEC, BenQ, ViewSonic, Optoma) reads clearly in a windowed classroom or training room — the reliable everyday education default.

UST for Interactive Classrooms

Epson EB-810E/815E ultra-short-throw lets a teacher stand at the screen with no shadow and no glare — a 100"+ image from centimeters away for an interactive class.

Large-Venue for Halls & Graduations

A large-venue laser (BenQ LU, Optoma ZU) reaches a big audience in a school hall, a campus auditorium, or a graduation — bright against the ambient light of a packed room.

Semester-Monthly or Per-Event

A monthly rate for a semester of regular use, or daily/per-event for exams and school events — extra units at the peak without a purchase capex, with a replacement SLA.

Projector Rental FAQ

Common Questions About Renting a Projector in Jakarta

Pricing, lumens/brightness, setup, throw types, large-venue, education, events, reliability, and rent-vs-buy — what clients ask us most.

Arental projector rental starts at IDR 300k/month for an entry standard 3LCD/DLP projector (Epson EB-X06/W06, BenQ Mainstream) suited to meeting rooms and classrooms, IDR 500k/month for the mid tier (Full HD 4,000 lumens, portable laser, LED conference such as the Epson EB-FH52, BenQ LH730), IDR 1 million/month for the premium tier (compact 5,000-6,200-lumen laser, ultra-short-throw, 4K such as the Panasonic PT-VMZ, Epson EB-810E UST), and IDR 1.5 million/month for an 8,000-10,000-lumen large-venue (BenQ LU9750/LU9800, Optoma ZU720T/ZU920T) for ballrooms and big halls. How to choose: for a standard meeting room pick 3,000-4,000 lumens; for a bright room or a large audience pick 5,000+ lumens; for a small room without presenter shadow pick ultra-short-throw; for a ballroom/plenary/church pick a large-venue laser. Rates already include delivery and setup across Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek) — send your event type, room size, and lighting conditions to WhatsApp and our sales team will recommend the right unit.
Lumens (ANSI lumens) measure brightness, and they decide whether the image is readable or washed out — especially against room light. A practical guide: 2,500-3,500 lumens for a small-to-medium meeting room with dimmable lights (8-30 people); 4,000-5,000 lumens for a bright meeting room, a training room, or a classroom with windows; 5,000-7,000 lumens for a 100-300 person seminar/conference in an air-conditioned room with moderate ambient light; and 7,000-10,000+ lumens for a ballroom, plenary, church, or big hall with a large screen and hundreds in the audience. Other factors: the bigger the screen and the brighter the room, the more lumens you need; text/spreadsheet content needs more brightness than video. Do not over-spec lumens for a small room (glare) or under-spec for a big hall (washed out). Send your room size, audience count, screen size, and lighting, and our sales team will work out the ideal lumens and recommend a unit from our fleet.
Delivery and setup is our core service — the Arental crew delivers, mounts, and sets up the projector until it is ready to show. Setup covers: mounting the unit (on a table, a tripod stand, or a ceiling mount for permanent use), connecting the source (HDMI from a laptop, a media player, or a switcher), adjusting keystone/lens-shift and focus so the image is square and sharp, connecting to the screen (a tripod screen, a motorized screen, or a wall), and a display test before the event. For a monthly meeting-room contract we can install a tidy permanent ceiling mount with hidden cabling. For events (seminars, MICE, church services), the crew arrives on D-1 or the morning of the event, sets the unit, calibrates to the screen and venue light, and tests together with the AV team. When the contract or event ends, we dismantle and collect it — you never have to touch the technical side at all.
The difference is throw distance — how far the projector must sit from the screen to produce a large image. A standard projector needs a few meters from the screen (a fit for rooms with enough depth, ceiling mounts, or a back table). A short-throw can produce a large image from ~1 meter — ideal for a narrow room or when the presenter must not block the projection. An ultra-short-throw (UST, such as the Epson EB-810E/815E) produces a 100"+ image from just centimeters in front of the wall/screen — ideal for very small rooms, an interactive classroom, or when the presenter stands in front of the screen with no glare and no shadow, because the projector sits just below/above the screen very close to it. The rule of thumb: a large room/ceiling mount → standard; a narrow room → short-throw; a very small or interactive room with no shadow → ultra-short-throw. Send your room layout and screen position and our sales team will recommend the right throw type.
Yes — large-venue/installation projectors are one of our categories. For hotel ballrooms, plenary conferences, churches, and big halls with hundreds in the audience, we provide 8,000-10,000-lumen large-venue lasers (BenQ LU9750/LU9800, Optoma ZU720T/ZU920T) plus the Epson EB-PU installation laser and Sony VPL/Panasonic PT lasers for high-bright needs. These units stay bright against the ambient light of a big venue, support interchangeable lenses for different throw ratios, lens-shift for placement flexibility, and stacking/blending for super-large or redundant projection. Large-venue rental starts at IDR 1.5 million/month (or a per-day/per-event rate for short events). Our crew delivers, rigs/mounts on the venue rigging or truss where needed, calibrates to the large screen and the light, and a technician stays on standby through the event — because in a big hall a washed-out or dead image mid-session is a failure everyone sees. Send the venue size, audience count, and screen size for a lumens and lens recommendation.
Yes — education projectors are a routine use case for us. For classrooms and training rooms we provide standard 3,000-4,000-lumen projectors (Epson EB-Series, NEC, BenQ, ViewSonic, Optoma Mainstream) that read clearly in a windowed room, and ultra-short-throw (Epson EB-810E/815E) for an interactive classroom that avoids the shadow and glare when a teacher stands in front of the screen. For a school hall, a campus auditorium, or a graduation, a large-venue laser reaches a big audience. LED conference (BenQ LH730) is attractive for a lab/classroom because it is near-maintenance-free (a long-life LED light source, no lamp replacement). Education rental suits: a school/campus that needs extra units seasonally (exams, practical tests, annual events), a training provider that moves between locations, and an institution that needs projectors without a purchase capex. Send the number of rooms, the classroom/hall size, and the duration — our sales team helps match the unit and the scheme (monthly for a semester, daily for a school event).
All of them can. Our projectors have standard HDMI inputs (and VGA on units that support legacy) that accept a signal from a presenter laptop, a media player, or a video switcher/mixer for multi-source/multi-presenter events. For a conference with presenters taking turns, connecting via a switcher is cleanest — the AV operator just switches source without unplugging at the projector. On screens: we can provide a complete package — a tripod screen, a motorized/electric screen, or a large frame screen for a venue — sized to the room and audience, plus long HDMI cables, adapters (USB-C/Mini DisplayPort to HDMI for MacBooks and modern laptops), and a presenter remote/clicker. If you already have a screen and only need the projector unit, that works too. Our technician stays on standby on-site through the event to handle the HDMI handshake, switch source, refocus, or swap a unit on any issue — resolved in minutes. Tell us whether you need a screen + cables + adapters on request so the package is complete.
Yes — events and MICE are one of our main use cases. For seminars, conferences, exhibitions, brand activations, and gala dinners we deploy projectors to scale: one large-venue unit for the main plenary screen, or several distributed units (a main screen + side screens) so the back of the audience still sees clearly. We can rig/mount on the venue rigging or truss (coordinated with the venue/EO team), calibrate keystone and focus to a large screen, and arrange stacking/blending for wide projection (simple stage mapping, an ultra-wide screen). A technician stays on standby on-site through the event — from rehearsal to the final session — to handle source, focus, and unit swaps. For an exhibition or a multi-day event the technician can visit daily or stay fully on standby. Event rental is available per-day or per-event (not just monthly). Send the date, venue, the number of screens/projectors, and the audience size so we can prepare enough units, lenses, and crew.
On a monthly contract we commit to fast support: remote troubleshooting first via phone/WhatsApp (many issues are actually source/cable/setting, not the projector), an on-site technician visit for hands-on problems, and unit replacement within 1-3 working days where a unit cannot be fixed on the spot — in Jakarta proper it is often same-day or next-day. For lamp-based projectors, a dimming/dead lamp is replaced by us under reasonable usage; many of our modern units are laser/LED, whose light source lasts thousands of hours with no lamp replacement — more reliable for intensive use and long contracts. For critical events (plenary, church, gala), we can provide a standby backup unit on-site so that on any issue, a swap takes minutes without stopping the event. This is the rent-vs-buy difference: when a projector you bought breaks, you queue at the service center and buy an expensive lamp; when a rented projector has a problem, that is ours.
It depends on duration, frequency of use, and projector type. Renting makes more sense when: (1) the need is temporary/seasonal — a seminar, MICE, an exhibition, a gala, a school exam, an annual event, a brand activation; (2) the projector is expensive/specialized and rarely used on its own — an 8,000-10,000-lumen large-venue, an installation laser with a special lens, an ultra-short-throw (buying these is a tens-of-millions capex that later sits idle in a store room); (3) you do not want the hassle of maintenance, lamp replacement, and depreciation — renting moves all of that to us; (4) an office/institution that needs extra units at peak without adding a fixed asset. Buying makes more sense only if usage is permanent and frequent (a daily meeting-room projector), with a team handling maintenance. For a large-venue/installation projector costing tens of millions, per-event rental is often far cheaper than the total cost of ownership for a unit used a few times a year. Send your projector type + estimated duration/frequency and our sales team will help work out which is cheaper — we will not push you to rent if buying clearly makes more sense.
Yes. For a compact, mobile need we provide a portable smart projector and pico LED — the Epson EpiqVision Mini (a portable laser the size of a speaker box, bright and compact for a roadshow/home presentation) and the ASUS ZenBeam (a battery-powered pico LED that fits in a bag). These suit a sales roadshow, a presentation at a client site, an ad-hoc meeting room, a small outdoor movie night, or a light backup. Many are already smart (built-in Android TV/streaming apps) so they run without a laptop. An honest note: portable/pico units have lower lumens than installation units, so they are best for a dimmable room and a small-to-medium audience — for a bright room or a large audience we still recommend a high-lumens unit. Tell us whether you prioritize portability (light, battery-powered) or brightness (large audience) on request, so we point you to the right unit.
