A3 Printer Rental Jakarta: Working Drawings & Print Rooms

Summary
A3 printer rental in Jakarta from Rp 350k/month: A3 EcoTank, production A3 MFPs, plus A1/A0 plotters for working drawings and print rooms. Toner covered.
A3 printer rental in Jakarta starts from Rp 350,000/month for an A3 EcoTank inkjet, and Rp 1,200,000/month for a production-class A3 color MFP such as the Konica Minolta bizhub i-Series, Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX, or Kyocera TASKalfa. If your working drawings actually need a format larger than A3, A1/A0 plotters are available from Rp 1,500,000/month — so a single vendor can handle your studio's entire print chain. Every Arental (PT Amanah Sewa Nanjaya) rate includes delivery and installation across Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), network setup, and toner/ink covered within a volume quota. Ordering takes one message to WhatsApp +62 821-4777-2100.
This article is written for the three A3 users we serve most often: architecture studios and engineering consultants printing working drawings, print shops or in-house print rooms chasing volume and finishing, and project offices that need heavy-duty print capacity without the capex. Let's start with the question that gets answered wrongly most often.
Is Your Requirement Really A3 — or Actually A1?
The most expensive mistake when renting a printer for working drawings is not picking the wrong brand — it is picking the wrong format. A3 measures 297 × 420 mm, exactly twice the area of A4. For shop drawings, architectural details, internal reviews, and tender document attachments, A3 is entirely adequate and far cheaper to run.
But complete construction drawings — plans, elevations, and sections at 1:100 or 1:50 scale — are conventionally printed at A1 (594 × 841 mm) or even A0 (841 × 1,189 mm) so dimensions and annotations stay legible on site. No A3 printer can reach that format; that is plotter territory.
A quick rule of thumb before you request a quote:
- An A3 printer is enough: shop drawings, architectural details, internal reviews and markups, tender documents, brochures, booklets, certificates, calendars, small posters.
- You need an A1/A0 plotter: permit drawings (PBG/IMB), as-built drawings, drawings for the site office, maps, large posters, indoor banners.
- A mix of both: the reality for most architecture studios. The answer is not one do-it-all machine (no such machine exists) but a combination — an A3 MFP plus a plotter, or an A3 MFP plus outsourced A1 printing. Which combination is cheaper is exactly what we calculate below.
Which A3 Printers Can You Rent in Jakarta?
Of the ~29 printer families across 13 brands in our rental fleet, three classes matter for A3 work and working drawings. You can browse every family's specifications yourself in the Arental catalog.
A3 EcoTank & WorkForce Inkjets — Economical Color at Medium Volume
From Rp 350,000/month. The Epson EcoTank A3 uses refillable ink tanks that keep the cost per color page low, while the Epson WorkForce comes in an A4 + A3 multi-tray variant for offices that print mostly A4 but regularly need A3. This class suits small studios and consultants printing a few hundred color A3 drawing sheets per month. Its limits are clear: inkjet speeds trail laser, and there are no finishing options.
Production A3 Color MFPs — the Machine for Print Shops & Print Rooms
Rp 1,200,000/month. This is the class of the Konica Minolta bizhub i-Series (C300i/C360i/C450i), Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX, and Kyocera TASKalfa: high-speed color print-scan-copy, large paper trays, and staple, booklet, and hole-punch finishing options — capabilities that let a small print shop take booklet and bound-proposal orders without extra equipment. Toner is covered within a volume quota, and any overage is billed at a transparent cost-per-page stated from the quotation onward. The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX also brings secure print and protected document workflows — relevant if your print room handles tender documents or contracts.
A1/A0 Plotters — the Neighboring Category for Full Working Drawings
Rp 1,500,000/month. The HP DesignJet T-Series, Canon imagePROGRAF TM (5-color LUCIA TD inks for crisp CAD linework), and Epson SureColor SC-T print from rolls as wide as A1 (~594 mm) up to A0 (~841 mm) — for technical drawings, GIS, as-builts, maps, and posters. For a construction project office that needs daily drawing prints at the site office, a monthly plotter rental is almost always more practical than shuttling back and forth to a print shop.
| Class | Max format | Core strength | Best for | Rent/month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A3 EcoTank/WorkForce inkjet | A3 | Low cost per color page | Small studios, color A3 drawings | Rp 350,000 |
| Production A3 color MFP | A3 | Speed, finishing, scan-copy | Print shops, print rooms, corporate offices | Rp 1,200,000 |
| Large-format plotter | A1/A0 (roll) | Precise CAD linework, roll media | Full working drawings, maps, posters | Rp 1,500,000 |
What Does It Cost per Month? A Simulation for an 8-Person Architecture Studio
Take a profile that is common during the DED (Detail Engineering Design) phase: an 8-person studio printing around 1,200 mixed A3 sheets (drawings, documents, proposals) plus 150 A1 sheets per month. Jakarta print shops typically charge Rp 15,000–25,000 per A1 sheet — we will use the midpoint of Rp 20,000.
| Component | Scheme 1: A3 MFP + outsourced A1 | Scheme 2: A3 MFP + rented plotter |
|---|---|---|
| Production A3 color MFP rental | Rp 1,200,000 | Rp 1,200,000 |
| A1 prints at a print shop (150 × Rp 20,000) | Rp 3,000,000 | — |
| A1/A0 plotter rental | — | Rp 1,500,000 |
| Total per month | Rp 4,200,000 | Rp 2,700,000 |
The break-even is easy to compute: Rp 1,500,000 ÷ Rp 20,000 = 75 A1 sheets per month. Below that, outsourcing still makes sense and you only need the A3 MFP. Above it — and 150 sheets is well above it — renting the plotter saves Rp 1,500,000/month, before counting the soft costs that never show up on an invoice: staff time shuttling to the print shop, queues, and the risk of last-minute revisions right before a tender submission deadline that cannot wait for the print shop to open.
Rent or Buy a Production A3 MFP? Run the TCO First
A production A3 color MFP is a heavy capex item — production-class units commonly cost tens of millions of rupiah each. On paper, buying looks like "pay once and be done". In reality the TCO of this machine class keeps running long after the unit arrives: color toner sets, drum replacements, a service contract, plus depreciation — and if the machine was bought for a single project, it sits idle the moment the project ends.
Compare that with a 36-month rental simulation from Arental: Rp 1,200,000 × 36 = Rp 43.2 million, already including toner within the quota, drum replacement, servicing, and unit replacement on failure — one number that drops straight into an opex budget. Contract length itself is flexible: a practical 1-month minimum for offices, and for a fixed-duration project (a project office, an office renovation, a new branch office) there is a 3–12 month contract matched to the project's lifespan — a studio that wins an 8-month tender simply rents for 8 months.
When does buying make more sense? When usage is permanent for years, volume is stable, and an internal team handles maintenance — we do not hide that. We unpacked the full decision framework in our article on renting vs buying IT equipment; the principle is the same for printers: the more expensive and the more project-bound a machine is, the stronger the case for renting it.
What Technical Support Comes with the Rental?
Four things separate a rental from merely "borrowing a machine":
- Delivered and installed until it works. Units are delivered, installed, and configured onto your office network anywhere in Greater Jakarta — same-day within Jakarta. The technician confirms a correct test print before handover.
- Tiered handling for a faulty unit. Remote troubleshooting first over phone/WhatsApp (many paper-jam or driver issues resolve in minutes), then an on-site technician visit when the problem needs hands-on work, and replacement with an equivalent unit within <1–3 working days if it cannot be fixed on the spot — often same-day or next-day in Jakarta proper. For a production print room or critical printers, a standby backup unit can be arranged to fit your operational needs, so a tender print deadline is never left waiting on a machine to come back from servicing.
- Formal vendor paperwork. Handover uses audit-grade BAST documents, and invoices come with PPN e-faktur, ready for PPh 23 withholding — a clean fit for corporate and institutional procurement processes.
- Data clearing at contract end. Modern MFPs store document images on internal storage; before a unit moves to another client, the job queue and internal memory/hard disk are reset per procedure, so your tender documents do not walk out the door.

A3 Printer Rental Jakarta — FAQ
Can I rent an A3 printer by the day for a tender or event?
Yes. The standard scheme is monthly, but for 1–3 day tender or event needs a special daily package is available — state the dates and location when you contact sales on WhatsApp.
Is toner and ink genuinely covered?
Yes, within the volume quota agreed in the contract. Usage above the quota is billed at a cost-per-page figure stated from the quotation onward — no surprise bills at month end.
Can I print directly from AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, or design applications?
Yes. The unit is installed as a network printer and our technician configures the drivers on your workstations during installation. For plotters, mention your primary software so media profiles and custom paper sizes are set up at the same time.
Which brands are available in the A3 and large-format class?
Epson (EcoTank A3, WorkForce, SureColor SC-T), Canon (imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX, imagePROGRAF TM), Konica Minolta bizhub i-Series, Kyocera TASKalfa, and HP DesignJet — part of the ~29 printer families across 13 brands in our fleet. If your office has a brand standard, mention it when requesting a quote.
What if the unit breaks down right in the middle of a print deadline?
We troubleshoot remote first, then send an on-site technician if the problem needs hands-on work; if the unit genuinely cannot be fixed on the spot, an equivalent replacement unit arrives within <1–3 working days — often same-day or next-day in Jakarta proper, at no extra charge. For a production print room or critical printers, our sales team can arrange a standby backup unit to fit your operational needs.
